Youths of Vietnam, Russia enhance cooperation in new context

A virtual conference was held on March 17 to discuss ways to further promoting the friendship between Vietnamese and Russian youths, along with cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) of HCM City and the Committee for External Relations of Saint Petersburg.

Hanoi (VNA)– A virtual conference was held on March 17 to discuss ways to furtherpromoting the friendship between Vietnamese and Russian youths, along withcooperation between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) of HCM Cityand the Committee for External Relations of Saint Petersburg.

At the event, Secretaryof HCM City’s HCYU Phan Thi Thanh Phuong said she was delighted to discuss withrepresentatives of Saint Petersburg on cooperation programmes in the comingtime.

Phuong, who is alsoPresident of the Students Association in HCM City, suggested further discussionson education of the Vietnam-Russia traditional friendship and cooperation inyouth volunteers’ campaigns and startups, among others.

Participants at theevent noted that Vietnam and Russia share similarities in the implementation ofactivities bolstering patriotism among young people via events on history andyouth forums.

As voluntary eventsare rolled out annually in Saint Petersburg, the Russian side voiced its hopethat Vietnamese representatives will join the events online.

In addition, a projectto speed up Russia-Vietnam trade has been introduced in a bid to connect youngentrepreneurs of the two countries and support startups.

For his part, DeputyChairman of the Committee for External Relations of Saint Petersburg VyacheslavKalganov affirmed that Vietnam is always a priority in the city’s externalrelation policy.

He proposed the signingof a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Russian city’scommittees and the HCYU of HCM City./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
