Young Vietnamese in Czech Republic contribute to environmental protection

Prague (VNA) – Waste management at the Sapa commercialcentre in Prague, the Czech Republic, was the main topic of a workshop held atthe centre on June 15.

Senator P. Quittova, head of the Czech-VietnameseFriendship Parliamentarians Group of the Czech Senate, EnvironmentMinister Petr Hladík, and former Czech Ambassador to Vietnam V. Grepl were amongthe participants.

At the workshop, members of the Czech Republic-Vietnameducation centre presented their project on waste management, which aims to raisethe awareness of Vietnamese in the Czech Republic about environmentalprotection.

In his remarks, Hladík spoke highly of the centre’s initiativeand responded to queries on the Czech Republic’s environment policies.

Vietnamese representatives at the event noted theirhope that the Czech government will further create favourable conditions forthe Vietnamese community in the country in general and young people inparticular to contribute to the host society, and serve as a bridge between thetwo countries.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
