Young scientific and technological talents honoured

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan presented Golden Globe awards to 10 outstanding young people in science and technology in Hanoi on Dec. 29.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan presented Golden Globeawards to 10 outstanding young people in science and technology in Hanoion Dec. 29.

The award honours young talents in informationtechnology (IT), the medicine-pharmaceutical technology, bio-technology,and environmental technology.

Deputy PM Nhan said he hopes theawardees will make greater efforts to contribute to boosting scientificand technological research and application and help the country catch upwith the world in this field.

The Deputy PM also commended theHo Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Ministry ofScience and Technology on organising the Golden Globe awards.

Launched in 2003, the prizes aim to encourage young people to study and master science and technology./.

Since 2022, more than 500 Vietnamese startups have engaged in Google’s Startup Academy, Google for Startups Accelerator, and Google Startup Masterclass. Nearly 100 of these firms received support to develop and improve their products, benefiting more than 300,000 customers and creating over 300 new jobs through successful fundraising and team expansion amidst Vietnam’s competitive economy.

PM cal🥂ls for cooperation with Sweden in nuclear energy technology

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
