Yen Bai (VNA) – Various cultural activities will dazzle audiencesthroughout Muong Lo Culture Tourism Week, scheduled to take place in Nghia Lo town,the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai from September 23-29.

The activities include art performances on the traditional cultural values of MuongLo-Nghia Lo and Mu Cang Chai lands, performance of “khen be”- a unique bamboo musicalinstrument of Thai ethnic people, food street and community-based tourismactivities.

Additionally, a paragliding festival will be held from September 23-24 at MuCang Chai district’s Khau Pha mountain pass, one of the longest mountain passesin Vietnam at more than 1,200 metres above sea level.

The event themed “flying over ripening rice fields” will feature a paraglidingshow from foreign and local pilots.  Foradrenaline seekers, paragliding offers an opportunity to experience airborneadventure and breathtaking views.

Adventure tourism to discover Ta Xua and Ta Chi Nhu peaks as well as Hang TeCho waterfall will be introduced in Van Chan and Tram Tau districts, while theprovince will join hands with travel agents to popularise community-basedtourism in villages in Van Chan district.

The province has asked districts and towns to devise organising plans while ensuringsecurity, social order and traffic safety in places hosting events.

Foodsecurity has also been a focus, with Nghia Lo town setting up inspection groupsto control the food quality of 150 restaurants and hotels in the town.

Meanwhile, Mu Cang Chai district has made meticulous preparation for theweek. Although it experienced historical floods in August, the district has repairedpublic works and local accommodation facilities.-VNA
