Yamaha holds national tourneys for children

The For the Future of Vietnam Football programme will be kicked off with a football camp in Hanoi on May 25-26.
The For the Future of Vietnam Football programme will be kicked off with a football camp in Hanoi on May 25-26. The event, sponsored and organised by Yamaha Motor Vietnam, is expectedto attract children aged between six and 10 years old to Bach KhoaStadium to test their skills. Qualifying candidates will take part in asix-week training course which will give them the basic skills offootball. An estimated 150 kids will be selected from the trials,double the number from last year. They will be trained by Japanese coachMasakuni Yamamoto along with famous Vietnamese coaches from early Juneto mid July.
Yamaha will also organise the National Children'sFootball Championships in Nghe An and Khanh Hoa, and the annual YamahaASEAN Cup for U11 players.
It is expected to attract four teamsfrom ASEAN and one from Japan , with Vietnam hosting the tournamentwhich is scheduled for October in Hai Phong. Last year in Malaysia , the Vietnamese team finished fourth out of six.-VNA

Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s I🍨ntergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
