Hanoi (VNA) - Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat extended hi🦂s best Christmas wishes to the Catholic dignitaries and followers when visiting the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) (ECVN) and the Archdiocese o🍒f Hanoi on December 23.

At the ECVN, Anh praised the Protestants and pastors of the Church for following guidelines of the Party and policies and laws of the State, and actively responding to patriotic emulation movements. He urged the pastors to continue guiding followers in practicing their religion in line with law, and joining the local authorities in the national construction and defence.
Pastor Nguyen Huu Mac briefed the Politburo member on main activities of the Church in the past time, including the implementation of Directive No. 01/2005/CT-TTg on tasks regarding Protestantism. The Church was presented with the Prime Minister’s certificate of merit for its contributions to realising the directive, he said, affirming its continued coordination with local authorities to take better care for religious followers. Meeting leaders of the Hanoi Archdiocese, Anh informed them about the country’s socio-economic achievements, which have been actively contributed by Protestants nationwide.
He spoke highly of the Hanoi Catholics’ efforts in reducing poverty, building new-style rural areas and ensuring social order and safety. Endeavours made by the Catholic community contributed importantly to building the Party and State apparatus, thus realising the country’s objectives. Archbishop Nguyen Van Nhon thanked the Party and State for supporting the Archdiocese of Hanoi, affirming its determination to make more contributions to the nation./.
