World-wide young VN women invited to vie for crown

Young Vietnamese women across the world are invited to participate in the second Miss World Vietnam that is scheduled to take place in Nha Trang city from August 10-21.

According to organisers, all single, high-school graduates at the ageof 18-27 who are of Vietnamese origin and can speak Vietnamese areeligible for the beauty contest.

Those women who won other beauty titles last year and this year willbe considered to enter the final round if they meet the above-mentionedrequirements, said the organisers.

The winner of Miss World Vietnam 2010 will receive gifts worth 500million dong (26,500 USD), the highest among beauty contests in Vietnamso far and she may be chosen to present Vietnam to compete grand slambeauty pageant this year.

The contest is designed to create a link among Vietnamese nationals,regardless of their culture, religion and geography distance, helpingstrengthen the national solidarity, the organisers said.

The contest honouring Vietnamese women’s beauty and intelligence isalso part of events celebrating the 1,000 th anniversary of ThangLong-Hanoi.

The organisers said they would start receiving registration forms asof April 25./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
