World Vision supports environmental protection in Quang Tri

The People’s Committee of central Quang Tri province and World Vision International in Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on May 25 to implement the project “Developing initiatives for environmental protection in Trieu Phong district” from 2015 to 2017.

TheKorean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Korea ExchangeBank provided 400,000 USD for project implementation.

Theproject is to help the residents of eight communes in Trieu Phongdistrict benefit from environmentally-friendly sustainable developmentmodels.

Since 2005, World Vision International in Vietnamhas successfully implemented a number of projects in Quang Tri,including water and sanitation, maternal and child healthcare, andenvironmental protection projects.

Also at the signingceremony, the provincial People’s Committee presented an honorarycertificate to Daniel Selvanyagam, Chief Representative of the WorldVision International for his contributions to implementing developmentprojects in the province from 2005 to 2015.-VNA

Vietnam contri✤butes to 🌜international court's advisory opinion on climate change

As a key member of the core group of 18 countries, initiated by Vanuatu, Vietnam engaged in advocating for the UN General Assembly’s Resolution N.77/276, requesting for the ICJ’s advisory opinion. Following the resolution's adoption, Vietnam fully participated in all procedural steps for the first time, from submitting written proposals to presenting directly at the court’s hearings.

Hanoi to ❀roll out policies supporting green transport transition

Under the plan, from 2025 to 2026, the city will complete mechanisms and policies to support businesses in switching to green vehicles, expand the electric and green-energy bus network, and build charging stations. The targeted proportion of green buses is set at 10% in 2025 and 20–23% in 2026.
