Hanoi (VNA) - ๊The winners of the third BuaLiem Vang (Golden Hammer and Sickle) Press Award were honoured at a grand ceremony at the Hanoi Opera House on January 25 night for their excellent works on Party building.
The awards aim torecognise outstanding works in disseminating information and promotingunderstanding about the Party’s policies and Party building work. The jury selected 56outstanding works from more than 1,800 entries to present four A prizes, 10 Bprizes, 15 C prizes and 25 consolation prizes. Addressing the event,National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the awards not onlyencourage reporters and news agencies to disseminate information and promoteunderstanding about the Party’s policies, but also serve as an opportunity toreview Party building tasks over the past year. The award drew theparticipation of people from all walks of life, both at home and abroad,showing the increasing attention of the public to the Party’s activities, shesaid. The entries reflectedParty building tasks over the past year, with many entries reporting on thefight against deterioration in political ideology, morality and lifestyle amonga portion of Party members and against corruption and wastefulness. They also covered theDoi Moi (renewal) cause, the restructuring of the political apparatus andtraining of officials of different levels. Many models of goodpractice and good Party members were also reported. The top legislatorsaid those press works contributed to Party building and the fight against wrongfuland distorted allegations by hostile forces, thusstrengthening trust in the Party among people, State cadres and Party members. The awards also reflectthe hard work of reporters and editors, she said. She took the occasionto praise the contribution of the press towards the cause of nationalconstruction in general and in Party building in particular.-VNA
The third Bua Liem Vang (Golden Hammer & Sickle) Press Awards will receive entries appeared in print or e-newspapers, or on radio or TV programmes between November 1, 2017 and October 31, 2018, the contest’s organising board announced at a press conference in Hanoi on March 29.
