Hanoi (VNA) – Winners of the 2018 national press award on trafficsafety were announced at a ceremony in Hanoi on April 3.

According to the organizers, as of November 30, 2018, the contest hadreceived 1,021 entries of individuals and collectives from 40 units nationwide.

The jury chose from the most 32 outstanding works to present two first,five second, 10 third and 15 consolidation prizes.

Through their articles, participating journalists reflected urgent andnewly emerging issues in the field of transport as well as in traffic safety.

They also highlighted transport development management mechanisms andorientations, state management over traffic safety, transportation businessactivities, and shortcomings in the construction and upgrade of infrastructurefacilities.

At the event, Vice Chairman of the National Committee for Traffic SafetyKhuat Viet Hung launched the national press award on traffic safety for2019.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
