Welcome ceremony held for Lao officers, soldiers joining National Day parade
This is the second time this year that the Lao People’s Army has sent a delegation to participate in parades celebrating Vietnam’s major anniversaries.

Ha Tinh (VNA) – A welcome ceremony was held at Cau Treo International Border Gate in the central province of Ha Tinh on August 16 for a delegation from the Lao People’s Army who came for training and participating in a military parade for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day of Vietnam (September 2).
The 120-strong delegation then travelled to Hanoi, where they will proceed to the gathering area in preparation for participating in the parade training programmes.

This is the second time this year that the Lao People’s Army has sent a delegation to participate in parades celebrating Vietnam’s major anniversaries. Earlier, they took part in the parade marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025)./.
The parade and march featured nearly 16,000 officers and soldiers and various modern weapons and equipment, including many products researched and manufactured by Vietnam’s defence industry, such as missiles, infantry fighting vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and radar systems.
Their presence in the parade is not only a military exchange activity but also a vivid testament to the solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Army and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
The parade and march in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day will take place at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi, on the morning of September 2, 2025.
Highlighting the special position and role of the MST, the Government leader emphasised that the fields under its management are all critical areas with breakthrough potential, capable of leading the nation toward remarkable, rapid progress in this new era.
The General Secretary emphasised that as the country is entering a new stage of development, the public security force must continue to affirm its role as the “steel shield” and the “sharp sword” to protect the Party, safeguard the regime, and defend the people.
Writing in the visitors’ book, Chairman Man recalled that this day 80 years ago, the Congress of People’s Representatives convened in Tan Trao, adopting key decisions that paved the way for the August Revolution’s success and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, ushering in an era of independence, freedom and people’s mastery.
Emphasising that the NA will continue to innovate its approach to law-making, and a forum on law-making will soon be held, the top legislator requested Tuyen Quang to effectively implement the laws and resolutions adopted by the NA.
