VUFO honours outgoing Polish Ambassador

Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Bui Khac Son on May 8 presented the “For peace and friendship among nations” insignia to outgoing Polish Ambassador to Vietnam Barbara Szymanowska in recognition of her contributions to the growth of cooperation and friendship between the two countries’ people.

Hanoi (VNA) –Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Bui KhacSon on May 8 presented the “For peace and friendship among nations” insignia tooutgoing Polish Ambassador to Vietnam Barbara Szymanowska in recognition of hercontributions to the growth of cooperation and friendship between the twocountries’ people.

Son noted that duringher term of office in Vietnam, the diplomat has made great efforts in fosteringthe Vietnam-Poland partnership in many fields from politics-diplomacy to trade,economy, development cooperation, education, and people-to-people exchange.

Szymanowska coordinatedwith Vietnamese agencies to hold Poland economic forums that drew a large numberof leading firms from Poland, while bringing many Polish artists and arttroupes to Vietnam, and organising a Polish film festival as well as othercultural, education and tourism events in Vietnam, thus giving Vietnamesepeople deeper understanding of the culture and people of Poland, said Son.

The VUFO VicePresident also highlighted that the Polish diplomat has given many initiatives tosupport and coordinate the VUFO in launching diplomatic activities, whileactively engaging in the organisation’s activities.

He expressed his hopethat in any position, Szymanowska will continue making contributions to thedevelopment of friendship and affiliation between the two countries.

For her part,Ambassador Szymanowska said that over the past nearly four years, she and staffof the Polish Embassy in Vietnam, the Vietnam-Poland Friendship Organisation aswell as people of both countries have implemented many exchange activities andprogrammes to further bolster the Vietnam-Poland ties.

She thanked the VUFOfor assisting her in learning the history, culture and diverse traditions ofVietnam. The diplomat held that the friendship and partnership between the twocountries will continue thriving in all fields.

She also affirmed thatin any position, she will continue working hard to bring people of bothcountries closer, thus contributing to facilitating the Vietnam-Poland ties’growth.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
