Vo Nguyen Giap Park inaugurated in Truong Sa

A park named after the late General Vo Nguyen Giap was inaugurated after two months of construction on Son Ca Island in the Truong Sa (Spratly) district, the central province of Khanh Hoa on May 15.

Khanh Hoa (VNA) – A park named after the late General Vo Nguyen Giap was inaugurated after two months of construction on Son Ca🍒 Island i🌊n the Truong Sa (Spratly) district, the central province of Khanh Hoa on May 15.

The park sprawls over an area of 400 sq.m, in the centre of which is a monolithic sandstone statue of General Giap that is 1.76m high.
As many as 300 historic photos are also printed on an arc ceramic wall, depicting General Giap’s career in close relation with the Vietnam People’s Army and well-known battles and victories in the resistance wars against French colonialists and American imperialists.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy Ngo Si Quyet said the park is a reflection of Truong Sa soldiers and the army’s warm sentiment to the General. It is also to educate the public about the fighting spirit of the army and people in the national liberation and defence.-VNA
