Vinh Phuc (VNA) – The northern province ofVinh Phuc has showed active performance in applying information andcommunication technology in building e-government with fruitful results.
Nguyen Kien Trung, head of the IT Office under theprovincial Department of Information and Communications, said that the provincehas now completed the installation of the Local Government Service Platform(LGSP) at the IT infrastructure centre.
According to Trung, in order to synchronise the applicationsand database serving the provincial e-government, over the years, Vinh Phuc hasfocused on investing in building ICT infrastructure system.
Currently, 100 percent of State agencies and the People’sCommittees of districts andVinh Yen city across the province have beenconnected with specialized data network and accessed to the Internet.
E-Cabinet applications have been expanded comprehensively inthe provincial IT infrastructure centre. Training has been given to 40departments, agencies, sectors and People’s Committees at district level and137 communes, wards and towns. The software has been officially launched fromearly this month.
With the speeding up of administrative reform, over theyears, the provincial Administrative Centre has promoted its efficiency,contributing to enhancing the transparency in its operation, creatingfavourable conditions for people and enterprises in processing administrativeprocedure.
Despite initial positive outcomes, the implementation ofe-government has exposed shortcomings, while many IT applications have beensmall in scale and incomprehensive.
To complete the construction of the e-government asscheduled, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tri hasasked leaders of departments, sectors and localities to enhance theirresponsibility in e-government building, effectively exploiting ITapplications, while ensuring the connection among agencies in line with the setprogress speed of each ministry, sectors and agencies.
Vinh Phuc has proposed the Government, ministries andsectors to soon complete mechanisms and create legal foundation for thelaunching of e-government, ensuring the efficiency of e-governmentapplications, and focusing more on launching public services at Levels 3 and 4,he said./.
