Vinh Long hones industrial prowess

The province recently granted licenses to CongThanh and Phu Yen industrial zones in Binh Tan and Vung Liem districts,respectively, said Director of the provincial Department of Industryand Trade Nguyen Minh Tho.

During the secondphase of construction, Hoa Phu industrial park registered two newinvestors with a combined capital of 645 billion VND (30.1 million USD)and 11 million USD.

In the meantime, Binh Minhindustrial zone reeled in 12 projects worth nearly 1.14 trillion VND(53.1 million USD), seven of them are in the works.

During the third quarter of this year, Dong Nai province will rechecklicensed projects and address difficulties facing them to speed upimplementation.

Publicity campaigns will introduce and extend commercial reaches of major products both in and outside the country.

Under an industry and trade restructuring scheme, Vinh Long willfocus on ramping up processing and light industries this year.

On a six-month calculation, the province generated above 13.2trillion VND (616.8 million USD) worth of industrial manufacturing, up15.5 percent year-on-year.

A number ofmanufacturing sectors achieved growths, including animal feed, poultryand seafood (28 percent), handicrafts (24.7 percent), and concreteproduction (44 percent).-VNA
