Property developer Vingroup on April 3 signed a strategic cooperation agreement with US-based Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania (Penn).

Hanoi (VNA) -𒊎 Property developer Vingroup on April 3 signed astrategic cooperation agreement with US-based Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania (Penn).

Under the framework of the agreement, the developer’s VinUni University(VinUni) and Cornell will comprehensively work together in developing strategyand brand, and building an overall university management system. Cornell will help VinUni in various activities such as infrastructureassessment, human resource recruitment and designing education programmes. The USuniversity will also support VinUni with research cooperation and theevaluation of its first graduates from business and technology educationclasses.  Meanwhile, as a leading clinical hospital system in the US, Penn will support VinUni in recruitment and developing the professionalabilities of lectures and students in the field of health sciences. Penn will work directly with VinUni and Vinmec MedicalSystem to develop training programmes for physicians and clinical residents andwill develop a bachelor of science in nursing programme following local andinternational requirements and standards.  It will also collaborate with Vinmec in developing and training clinicallecturers, improving the quality of and expanding health specialty services andbuilding a practical facility model for VinUni’s health faculty. 

[Vingroup to take part in higher education]

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc said thecooperation between VinUni and world’s leading universities is expected toraise Vietnam’s higher education on par with international standards anddevelop high-quality lecturers. The VinUni University is based in Hanoi. The construction of the campusis expected to begin this year. The first batch of students will be enrolled in2020.  VinUni will focus on education and training in three key areas includingbusiness, technology and health sciences. VinUni is also geared to meet theworld-class standards and rankings of higher education watchdogs, such asQuacquarelli Symonds and Times Higher Education. - VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
