Vinabeef Tam Dao livestock, beef processing complex project launched
The Vinabeef Tam Dao livestock and beef processing complex project, requiring some 3 trillion VND (130.4 million USD) in total investment is in its first stage, launched at a ceremony in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on March 8.

Vinh Phuc (VNA) – The Vinabeef Tam Dao livestock and beefprocessing complex project, requiring some 3 trillion VND (130.4 million USD) in total investment is in its first stage, launched at a ceremony in the northern province of Vinh Phucon March 8.
As a joint effort between Vilico - anaffiliate of Vinamilk and Japan’s diversified conglomerate Sojitz, the complexsprawls over 75.6ha in Tam Dao, made up of a beef cattle farm accommodating 10,000head and a chilled beef processing plant with an annual capacity of 30,000head, or 10,000 tonnes of product.
It is expected to commence operations in 2024with chilled beef products using Japanese technology under the brand nameVinabeef.
Mai Kieu Lien, CEO of Vinamilk, said it is the first project in investmentand cooperation plan between leading Vietnamese and Japanese corporations inhigh-tech agriculture. The project includes cattle breeding and beef processing, with a total valueof up to 500 million USD signed in the end of 2021 to develop cattle breedingand beef processing using Japanese technology in Vietnam.
It is also the biggest deal signed by the two companies in Japanunder the witness of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Vietnam-Japaninvestment promotion conference 2021.
Masayoshi Fujimoto, President of Sojitz Corporation,said this is a promising and key project of the group in Vietnam for at leastthe next 5-10 years.
The project will operate in a 4-in-1 closed process,from livestock farming to production, processing and distribution.
