Viettel launches its 10th int’l mobile phone service in Myanmar

The military telecom group Viettel has launched its 10th international mobile phone network, Mytel, in Myanmar.

Hanoi (VNA) – The military telecomgroup Viettel has launched its 10th international mobile phone network, Mytel, inMyanmar.

Mytel, the fourth mobile phone operator inthat country, is the brand name of Telecom International Myanmar, a jointventure between Viettel and two local partners, Star High Public Company andMyanmar National Telecom Holding Public.

It targets to become the biggest in the country in terms of both infrastructureand business.

It is the only network with a customerservice channel with video calling in Burmese, English and Shan, the languageof the 6-million strong Shan people. Other networks only have Burmese andEnglish.

It already has in place more than 7,000 4Gbase transceiver stations (BTSs) and over 30,000km of fibre-optic cable thatcover the entire nation, enabling it to provide a diverse range of servicessuch as smart agriculture solutions (Nextfarm), traffic signal managementsystem (Smart Light), an electronic wallet, route surveillance equipment andmore.

At the grand opening ceremony, ViettelGroup announced its no-international-roaming-fees policy in Myanmar for itssubscribers in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and vice versa, the first of its kindin the world.

As of Mytel’s opening, Viettel Group’sregistered overseas investment is over 2 billion USD. It has repatriatedprofits of 516 million USD to Vietnam.-VNA

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
