Hanoi (VNA) – Vietravel Airlines, a subsidiaryof tour operator Viettravel, convened its annual conference on safety andquality on December 5.
Addressing the event, the CEO of the carrier and head of itssafety committee, Nguyen Minh Hai, underscored safety and quality as toppriorities.
Ensuring absolute safety for passengers and the workforce iscrucial to affirming Vietravel Airlines’ position and reputation, he stated.
Participants mulled over issues related to operationimprovements, with outcomes of their discussion serving as input to devise anaction plan for 2024.
Founded in late 2019, Vietravel Airlines ran the first commercial flight on January 25, 2021, becoming the first travel airline in Southeast Asia and the fifth commercial carrier in Vietnam. It is set to focus on operating commercial flightsusing modern narrow-body aircraft such as the Airbus A321/Boeing 737 or equivalent.
According to its General Director Vu Duc Bien, inthe first half of 2023, the numbers of flights and passengers increasedby 48% and 43% compared to the same period last year, respectively, with theoccupancy rate of each flight being up to 80-85%. These are important premisesfor the carrier to thrive in the aviation sector.
The airline expanded its flight network to major cities suchas Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon and Da Lat, and Bangkok (Thailand).It also operated charter flights to Daegu and Muan (the Republic of Korea), andMacau and Sanya (China)./.
Vietravel Airlines, a member of Vietravel Corporation, will receive and put into use its fifth aircraft in mid-August, and further expand its fleet to six within this year, according to the airline’s representative.
Vietravel Airlines, a subsidiary of tour operator Viettravel, has operated its first direct flight from Nha Trang city in the central province of Khanh Hoa to Muan of the Republic of Korea (RoK).

By source market, China continued to lead with 3.1 million visitors, equivalent to 25.5% of all foreign arrivals. The Republic of Korea followed with 2.5 million, or 20.7%. Other major markets included Taiwan (China) with 737,000, the US with 522,000, and Japan with 380,000.
Khanh Hoa has welcomed 16 international cruises so far this year, with more than 19,000 tourists disembarking to explore the province’s scenic landscapes and renowned cultural, religious, and artistic landmarks, as well as to enjoy local cuisine and sightseeing tours.
According to local plans, fireworks shows will be held at multiple locations, with Ha Long Bay as the focal point. More than mere entertainment, these displays are part of a strategic cultural tourism product aimed at strengthening the region’s brand.
