Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamhas won a number of prestigious awards in the tourism sector this year.
Several cities inVietnam were honoured in various categories at the 2022 World Travel Awards forthe Asia region which was held recently in Ho Chi Minh City.
Hanoi was “Asia’sleading city break destination” while Da Nang was “Asia leading festival &event destination”.
Ho Chi Minh City wonthe “Asia leading business travel destination” award.
Moc Chau town in thenorthern province of Son La was “Asia’s leading nature destination”.
With chilly weatherand breathtaking scenery, Moc Chau has become a popular destinationfor tourists around the year.

Hoi An beat rivalsincluding Beijing, Seoul, Kyoto and New Delhi to win the award for “Asia’sleading cultural city destination”. This is the third time Hoi An has receivedthe award with the first time in 2019 and the second in 2021.
In July, Hoi An wasthe only city in Vietnam to make the list of the world’s 25 best cities in2022, according to the US’s Travel Leisure magazine’s ranking. The score wasbased on readers' and tourists' experiences at top tourist destinationsthroughout the world.
The World TravelAwards were launched in 1993 to acknowledge excellence in the travel andtourism industry. Heralded as the “travel industry’s equivalent of the Oscars”by the Wall Street Journal, the awards are based on votes from the public andtravel professionals across the globe.
