Vietnam’s tech giant launches office in RoK

CMC technology corporation opened its office in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on May 8 as part of the strategy to promote its global operation in the areas of automotive, finance, and banking based on advanced digital technologies.

CMSSeoul (VNA) – CMC technology corporation opened its office in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on May 8 as part of the strategy to promote its global operation in the areas of automotive, finance, and banking based on advanced digital technologies.

The event was attended by representative of 200 Korean enterprises who are CMC’s partners, including IT service provider Samsung SDS and Kookmin Bank.

CMC Chairman Nguyen Trung Chinh described the event as a milestone that marks its market expansion and unceasing efforts to invest in and develop technology, saying the group not only brings leading technology solutions to but also support digital transformation in the East Asian nation.

๊ Ambassador Vu Ho congratulated CMC on its inauguration which, he said, contributes to helping Vietnamese technology reach out to the world as well as developing the Vietnam – RoK relations in a more practical manner.

Together with standout developments of the bilateral ties, IT cooperation between the two nations have advanced, contributing to promoting mutual understanding and exchange between enterprises of both sides and bringing benefits to both sides.

Director of Samsung SDS’s Global Development Centre Chung Ju Hong spoke highly of CMC’s technology and said he hopes to enhance cooperation with the corporation.

🅠 In the framework of the event, CMC signed Memoranda of Understanding with several partners such as KPS Steel, RSupport, and CoAsia Semi, marking a bold step in its “Go Global” strategy.

Vietnam and the RoK have eyed 150 billion USD in two-way trade value by 2030. The RoK, one of the leading economic partners of Vietnam, plans to invest 1.35 billion USD in R&D activities for new technologies that serve its digital transformation target.

Seeing the RoK a potential market, CMC has partnered with many corporations, including SK Telecom, CJ Olive Network and GS Retail, to name just a few.

ꦕ Established in 1993, CMC has owned more than 20 core technologies, and provided digital solutions and services in the areas of cloud computing, AI, Natural Language Processing, and Voice Processing./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
