Vietnam's National Day marked in Japan, Laos, South Africa
The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held a concert on September 2 to celebrate the 77th anniversary of National Day of Vietnam with the participation of government officials and representatives of parties of Japan and diplomatic missions in Tokyo.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held a concert on September 2 to celebrate the 77th anniversary of National Day of Vietnam with the participation of government officials and representatives of parties of Japan and diplomatic missions in Tokyo.
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Hong Nam reviewed Vietnam's achievements over the past 77 years.
From one of the least developed countries in the world, Vietnam has become a middle-income developing country and is recognised by the United Nations as one of the leading countries in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), he said.
Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 190 countries around the world and has economic partnerships with more than 230 countries and territories. It is a member of 15 free trade agreements (FTAs) and is also an active member of more than 70 multilateral organisations and forums, he added.
Regarding the ties with Japan, the Ambassador said the two countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2023, and expressed his belief that the Vietnam-Japan relations will continue to develop strongly and substantively in the coming time.

On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos hosted a banquet to mark the National Day and the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Laos
In his remarks, Vietnamee Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung said that the Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach great importance to and will do their best, together with the Lao Party, State and people, to preserve and develop the friendly relationship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Lao Party, State and people for their always solidarity with and support to Vietnam.
While applauding remarkable achievements that Vietnam obtained in the past 77 years, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith affirmed that the Lao Party and Government will continue to promote the great friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries for the common benefit of the two peoples of Laos and Vietnam, for peace, stability, security and development of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) family.
