Nghe An (VNA) – The High Command of the Military Zone 4 of Vietnam willcontinue cooperation with neighbouring Laos’s military units in 2017 in orderto contribute to building a common border of peace, friendship, stability anddevelopment.

Thiswas noted at a conference jointly held in Vietnam’s central Nghe An province onJune 20 by the High Command of the Military Zone 4, and Division 1 and 2, and MilitaryHeadquarters of Laos’s Vientiane, Xaisombound and central provinces which shareborder with the Military Zone 4.

Theevent reviewed affiliation outcomes in 2016 and put forth tasks for this year.

In2016, the High Command of the Military Zone 4 instructed relevant units to takethe initiative in partnering with their Lao counterparts and localities inagreed cooperation sectors.

Duringthe 2016-2017 dry season, the Lao side has assisted the Military Zone 4 unitsin searching and repatriating 200 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteersoldiers and experts who died in Laos, the conference heard. -VNA
