Jakarta (VNA)𒊎 – Indonesian media outlets on September 2 devoted wide coverage to the grand parade marking the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945–2025).

Internasional.kontan.co.id reported that Vietnam celebrated the 80th anniversary of independence from colonial rule with its largest military parade in decades. The article noted that, on this occasion, the Government also distributed unprecedented cash gifts worth an estimated 380 million USD to 100 million citizens, while nearly 14,000 prisoners got amnesty. Tens of thousands of people flocked to the streets of Hanoi, many dressed in red and carrying national flags, demonstrating strong national pride and patriotism. A naval parade in Cam Ranh Bay in Khanh Hoa province, featuring submarines and destroyers, further highlighted the commemoration. According to TRT.Global, Vietnam held its largest-ever public celebration on September 2, described as “unprecedented in scale,” surpassing the 30,000-strong parade staged in 1985. Koran Jakarta depicted tanks, drones, and missile batteries parading through the streets, while helicopters and aircraft soared overhead as thousands of spectators camped out to secure vantage points.
Meanwhile, Kompas and Detik released photo series showcasing impressive marching formations and Vietnam’s latest military hardware. The reports highlighted the participation of thousands of Vietnamese troops alongside contingents from China, Russia, and several other countries.
Beritasriwijaya published an article titled “Vietnam celebrates the 80th National Day, grants cash gifts to its people”, emphasising that the programme reflects the Government’s commitment to improving living standards amid global economic headwinds. The cash distribution is expected to strengthen purchasing power, stimulate domestic consumption, and contribute to economic growth. It also underlined that the parade not only demonstrated Vietnam’s military capabilities but also showcased the patriotism and pride of its people. Alongside the modern military display, traditional cultural performances reflected the country’s rich heritage, creating a distinctive appeal for visitors. In addition, KontanTV aired a report from Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945. The coverage revisited this historic moment that ended French colonial rule and opened a long path toward building a sovereign nation./.
