Bangkok (VNA) – Vietnameseyoungsters in Thailand have learnt about late President Ho Chi Minh through acontest launched between March 2 and May 19.

The contest was launched by the Vietnam Embassy in Thailand, the VietnameseConsulate General in Khon Kaen, the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese andthe Vietnamese Association in the country.

The contest, the first of itskind in Thailand occasioned President Ho Chi Minh’s 127th birthday, receiveda large number of entries, written in Vietnamese and Thai.

The organising board presentedtwo first prizes with a certificate of merit from Deputy Foreign Minister andhead of the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Vu Hong Nam, and aninvitation to attend a summer camp in Vietnam or join an Overseas Vietnamesechildren delegation in a Vietnam tour.

The contest was part of effortsto encourage youngsters to learn and follow the moral example of President HoChi Minh and the late leaders’ teachings.

It also contributed to preservingand promoting Vietnamese cultural identity, and encouraging the teaching andlearning of Vietnamese language in Thailand.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
