Vietnamese wrestlers compete in Asian championships in India

A Vietnamese nine-member wrestling team has taken part in the 26th Asian Wrestling Championships, which opened on April 18 in India’s capital of New Delhi.
A Vietnamese nine-member wrestling team has taken part in the 26th AsianWrestling Championships, which opened on April 18 in India’s capitalof New Delhi.

The Vietnamese are joining with over200 wrestlers from 19 countries in the region to compete nine weightcategories in the five-day tournament..

The Vietnameseteam hopes to bag home medals from this event, according to Head ofWrestling Division of the Vietnam Administration of Sports and PhysicalTraining.

Earlier this month, the Vietnam national wrestlingteam took the lead with 16 gold medals in the Southeast Asian (SEA)Freestyle and Classical Wrestling Championships, a pre-SEA Games event,which wrapped up in Myanmar on April 8.-VNA
