In the first five months of the year, the number of Vietnamese workers going abroad reached nearly 50% of the annual target set by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Japan remains the top destination, attracting the highest number of Vietnamese migrant workers.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan on July 30 held a seminar on promoting support for Vietnamese workers in Japan to integrate into the local community, develop themselves and their careers, with the participation of representatives of relevant Japanese agencies, departments and localities.
Vietnamese workers in Japan topped 401,000 as of October 2019, an increase of 26.7 percent from a year earlier, adding up to the record of almost 1.66 million foreign workers in the country, data of the Japanese labour ministry show.
Japan’s Ikai Group organised a festival for its Vietnamese apprentices and engineers in Yamanashi prefecture on October 20, gathering over 300 participants.
