Moscow (VNA) – The Vietnamese Veterans’ Association in Russia held a ceremony inMoscow on April 30 marking the 48th anniversary of southernliberation and national reunification and the 137th anniversary of InternationalMay Day (May 1).

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese defence attaché in RussiaVuong Dac Thang affirmed that Vietnam always remembers the contributions of warveteran soldiers, including Russian experts who dedicated themselves to Vietnam’sindependence and freedom.

The young Vietnamesegenerations will continue upholding the heroic traditions of their forefathersand carry on the mission of protecting and building the nation, he said.

Participants at theevent recalled the glorious historical periods of the nation, remarkable milestonesin their lives, and sang high praises for the homeland.

The same day, the VietnameseAssociation in St. Petersburg city held a gatheringmarking the anniversaries and honouring formerSoviet Union experts who stood side by side with the Vietnamese people duringdifficult times.

𒈔 Speeches at theevent praised the victory of Vietnam, the indomitable and courageous spirit ofthe Vietnamese people, the contributions of Soviet Union military experts, and wishedfor the relationship between Vietnam and Russia to become increasingly strongand durable./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
