Vietnamese students in Russia on the rise

The number of Vietnamese students in Russia is forecast to grow sharply in the coming time as a result of a new agreement on bilateral training cooperation signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to Vietnam .

According to the Voiceof Russia, around 6,000 Vietnamese students are pursuing highereducation in Russia , including 2,000 benefiting intergovernmentalagreements.

Vietnamese students are learning at sixRussian universities. The Tula State University (TSU) alone is home toabout 180 students from Vietnam , which tops the list of 55 nationssending students to learn there.

The Government of Russia is likely to double its current 500 scholarships for Vietnamese.

In addition to actively engaging in sports and art activities, manyVietnamese students have won prizes at physics, chemistry, maths andinformatics Olympiads in the country, commented Russianeducationalists./.
