Vietnamese students in RoK organise football tournament
Nearly 800 Vietnamese students in the Republic of Korea (RoK) competed in and cheered the 10th ICFood Football Cup held at Chungnam National University in central Daejeon city on July 1.

Seoul (VNA) – Nearly 800 Vietnamese students in the Republic of Korea(RoK) competed in and cheered the 10th ICFood Football Cup held atChungnam National University in central Daejeon city on July 1.
This year’s event attracted the participation of 16 teams from universitiesacross the RoK.
Park Kyun-ik, President of the RoK’s ICFoodCompany - the sponsor of the football tournament, said that the event aimed toconnect Vietnamese nationals in the host nation and enhance ties betweenVietnamese and Korean people.
He expressed his hope that Vietnamese students will have better understandingof the RoK through this tournament.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Nguyen Vu Tu spoke highly of ICFoodCompany’s support for the Vietnamese students in the past decade. He also tookthe occasion to laud the initiative to organise voluntary activities to assistVietnamese expats who have difficulties and impoverished students in Van Hodistrict, Son La province.
This was the most awaiting football tournament for Vietnamese students in theEast Asian country, President of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in the RoKaVu Duc Luong said, adding that it created opportunities for Vietnamesenationals to meet each other and enhance the Vietnam-RoK friendship.
Vietnam has the second-largest number of students and post-graduates amongforeign students in the East Asian country, with 20,000 people.-VNA
