Phnom Penh (VNA) – 𒈔Vietnamese students in Cambodia on January 13 organised anevent to celebrate the 2018 Lunar New Year.

The event was attendedby Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh and Cambodian Minister ofEducation, Youth and Sports Hang Chuon Naron, along with overseas students fromVietnam and other countries like Laos, China, the Republic of Korea and Japan. In his remarks, Minhsaid that Vietnamese students graduated in Cambodia have greatly contributed toVietnam’s development as well as the friendship and cooperation between the twonations. Lauding thecontributions and academic achievements of Vietnamese students in the country, theCambodian minister voiced his belief that the exchanged students will not only fosterthe development of the respective countries but also consolidate the bilateral traditionalfriendship and comprehensive cooperation.

Vietnamesestudents have spared no efforts to promote solidarity and maintain the culturalidentity and tradition of their home country, said Le Trung Kien, head of theVietnamese students in Cambodia.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
