Vietnamese students claim medals at world contests

Hanoi (VNA) – Two Vietnamese students won bronze medals at the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) and the Adobe Certified Professional World Championship (ACPWC) 2024 in California, the US.

The information was announced on August 2 by the Centre for Vietnam Youth Talents, Science and Technology (CYTAST) under the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) Central Committee, which co-organised the national qualifiers of the competition.

The medalists are Nguyen Minh Duong from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Mai Ngoc Linh from the Chu Van An High School in Hanoi.

In addition to Duong, five other members of the Vietnamese MOS team made them into the top 10 contestants in various categories at the MOSWC Finals.

Director of CYTAST Nguyen Thien Tu remarked that the competitions offered opportunities for Vietnamese youths to hone their IT and graphic design skills to international standards, paving the way for their future development with globally recognised professional certifications.

The achievements have spread the spirit of diligent study and effective application of technological advancements among young people, he stressed.

The accomplishments have lifted the total number of medꦑals won by Vietnam teams in the world finals of the competitions to 22, with four golds, four silvers, and 14 bronzes./.
