Vietnamese Students’ Association in Russia holds first congress

The Vietnamese Students’ Association in Russia on March 10 held its first congress, the 2024-2026 tenure, with 160 delegates representing the nearly 5,000 Vietnamese students from over 90 universities in 26 cities across Russia.

Moscow (VNA) – The Vietnamese Students’ Association in Russia onMarch 10 held its first congress, the 2024-2026 tenure, with 160 delegates representing the nearly 5,000 Vietnamese students from over 90 universities in 26 cities acrossRussia.

Le Huynh Duc, President of the association’sprovisional executive board, emphasised that the congress is a particularlyimportant event for Vietnamese youths in Russia, marking the birth of the associationafter many years of building and developing the student movement in the country.

This congress also has great significanceas 2024 marks 70 years of the Vietnamese government officially sending studentsto the Soviet Union, now Russia, for training. Since then, more than 100,000 Vietnameseofficials, students, experts, and people have been trained inRussia.

Vietnamese Ambassador Dang Minh Khoiexpressed his belief that the association will help manage and connectVietnamese students in Russia.

At the congress, a 27-strong executiveboard and a nine-member secretariat of the association were set up. AmbassadorKhoi and Do Xuan Hoang were elected honourary presidents of the association./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
