Vietnamese, Russian academies look to enhance cooperation

Moscow (VNA) - The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of  Politics (HCMA) wants topromote cooperation and share experience in personnel training with the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy andPublic Administration (RANEPA), said HCMAPresident Nguyen Xuan Thang.

Thang, whois also Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Chairman of the CentralTheory Council, expressed the desire at a working session with leaders of theRANEPA on November 22 as part of his ongoing working visit to Russia.

He suggested the two sides enhance the sharing ofexperience, knowledge, and skills which can help adapt to new changes,especially recent impacts of the regional economic context, the fourthindustrial revolution, and the transformation to a digital economy.

The two academies should also expand the exchange of lecturers and students toattend short-term study programmes, he said.

RANEPA Rector Prof. Vladimir Mau highlightedthe long-term research and training cooperation between HCMA and RANEPA, expressing the hope that the number ofVietnamese trainees pursuing study in the Russian academy will increase in thetime to come.

He affirmed that RANEPA is willing to help train and improve theprofessionalism of Vietnamese civil servants.
During a seminar betweenthe two sides, participant discussed measures to concretize cooperationagreements on research and teaching between the two academies.

They underlined the importance of state management work and relationshipbetween the state management apparatus and citizens; how to further strengthenthe Vietnam-Russia cooperation in a new context, and international issues of commonconcern, as well.

Later the same day, the Vietnamese delegation visited and had a working sessionwith the Institute of Far Eastern Studies under the Russian Academyof Sciences, during which the two sidesexchanged views on international issues in Asia-Pacific, the US-China trade warand its impacts on the world economy and trade./.
