Vietnamese professor honoured by Japanese Consulate General

Hanoi (VNA) - Therepresentative office of the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City haspresented a certificate of merit to Professor, Dr. Vo Tong Xuan for hiscontributions to friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

Addressing the award ceremony on November 23,Japanese Consul General in HCM City Nakajima Satoshi praised Xuan’scontributions to boosting economic and technological cooperation and friendshipbetween the two countries after receiving his doctoral certificate in Japan,Lao Dong (Labour) newspaper reported.

As a pioneer in rice research in Vietnam,the Professor has contributed to transforming the Mekong Delta from a hungryregion into one of the world’s leading rice producers.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
