Phnom Penh (VNA) – Some 430 gift packages werehanded over on May 9 to households of Vietnamese nationals in Cambodia and Khmer people inthe Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh.
The activity formed part of a programme jointly launchedby the Vietnamese Embassy and the Khmer-Vietnamese Association (KVA) inCambodia that aims to help Vietnamese nationals in the country in the wake ofthe COVID-19 pandemic.
The KVA, the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulates General in Battambang and PreahSihanouk presented gifts to about 3,000 families of Vietnamese nationals across Cambodia.
KVA President Sim Chy said no COVID-19 cases have beenreported among Vietnamese nationals in Cambodia so far.
As of May 9, the number of COVID-19 cases in thecountry had stood still at 122, of whom 120 have recovered, according to theCambodian Ministry of Health./.
The Khmer - Vietnam Association (KVA) in Cambodia on April 16 handed over 100 relief packages comprising rice, face masks and cash to Vietnamese-Cambodian families affected by COVID-19 in Kadal province.
The Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association handed over medical supplies and cash to its counterpart on April 17 in Hanoi to help the Cambodian people cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
