Vietnamese magazine delegation makes Italy visit

A delegation from Communist Review, a powerful media outlet controlled by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), made a three-day working visit to Italy, ending on July 16.

The delegation,led by Editor-in-Chief Vu Van Phuc met key Italian communist figures inan effort to build their relationship with Vietnam. They held workingsessions with leaders of the Party of Italian Communists (PdCI) and theItalian Communist Refoundation Party.

Duringthe sessions, Phuc introduced the hosts of the operations of the CPVand its publications, especially the magazine he manages. He highlightedSolidNet, a website for the international parties of communists andworkers, run by the Communist Party of Greece.

Phucexpressed his hope that the leaders of the two Italian parties will usethe website on a regular basis, therefore gaining a betterunderstanding of the CPV as well as the land and people of Vietnam, andboosting ties between all sides. He also outlined his wish for CommunistReview to make more exchanges with Marx 21, the magazine published bythe PdCI.

Maurizio Musolino, head of thePdCI Commission for External Relations, warmly welcomed the delegationto visit Italy, calling it a great honour of his party. He declared thatthe PdCI wants to uphold and develop the solidarity, friendship andcooperation with the Vietnamese party.

Thehead of the Italian party’s Economic Commission, Luigi Maino, hailed thesignificant achievements that Vietnam has recorded, especially in theeconomic sphere, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam,adding that the success serves as a source of encouragement for Italiancommunists.

Maino said that he hopes to learn from Vietnam about how to develop a socialism-oriented market economy.

Meanwhile,Italian Communist Refoundation Party Secretary General Paolo Ferrero,freshly back from a visit to Vietnam, shared his vision for thedevelopment of his party and briefed the guests on its publications.

The same day, Phuc and his entourage left for a working visit to the United Kingdom.-VNA
