Vietnamese, Lao provinces boost trade union links

– Representatives from trade unions of Vietnam’s centralprovince of Thanh Hoa and Houaphan province of Laos met on June 4 to exchangeexperience in their field of work.

Themeeting, which took place in Thanh Hoa province, was one activity to realise amemorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two localities duringthe 2017-2020 period.

Thetwo sides informed each other about achievements they have recorded in popularisingParty guidelines and State policies and laws in their respective countries,promoting patriotic emulation movements, protecting legitimate rights andinterests of labourers and stepping up social activities.

Presidentof Houaphan’s trade union Phonsane Vilaymenh said his visit to Thanh Hoa willcontribute to fostering the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnamand Laos, and the two provinces in particular.

Theofficial noted his hope that the two agencies will continue to share experiencein order to improve the efficiency of the trade union work in each locality inthe time ahead.

Overthe past years, trade unions of Thanh Hoa and Houaphan have provided mutualspiritual and material support, and exchanged experience in the trade unionwork.

Duringtheir stay in Thanh Hoa, the Houaphan delegation visited some grassroots tradeunion chapters.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
