Vietnamese, Lao localities boost trade union links

Theevent focused on measures to make trade union activities moreeffective, while highlighting the need to popularise legal regulationsamong workers in private and foreign-invested enterprises.

Ways in which to intensify direct dialogue between employees and employers were also on the agenda.
Participants concurred that trade unions should work to ensure t heinterests and rights of both labourers and their companies.

Chairmanof Houaphan province’s Trade Union, Chuheu, called on businessesoperating in Thanh Hoa to funnel investment in the Lao locality, helpinggenerate more jobs for Lao locals.

He also asked for the Vietnamese locality’s support in training Houaphan’s trade unionists.

Thetwo sides agreed to increase their connections via delegationexchanges and sharing experience, deepening the Vietnam-Laostime-honoured friendship and special solidarity.-VNA
