Vietnamese language course for Lao officers opens in Son La

Son La (VNA) – The Military High Command of thenorthern mountainous province of Son La on March 31 opened a Vietnamese language course for officers andsoldiers of Laos' armed forces.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of theprovincial People’s Committee Trang Thi Xuan ordered the provincial the MilitaryHigh Command to closely coordinate departments and sectors to ensure the best livingand learning conditions for the Lao officers and soldiers.

Apart from teaching the Vietnamese language, the nine-month coursewill also focus on sharing experience in socio-economic development, ensuring defenceand security, and addressing social issues, contributing to promoting the friendshipbetween the Military High Commands of Son La and Lao localities.  

༺ Through the course, 120 Lao officers and soldiers will not only learn listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, but also understand more about military terms. They willalso visit historical sites, and scenic spots in Son La province./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
