Bui Quang Minh, an IT expert from the Internet security company BkavCompany has received an award of 1,000 USD from Google corporation forfinding out a high security vulnerability in Google Chrome browser.

In October 2010, Minh found the fault in libxml2, an open source software library for parsing XML documents.

Thislibrary is used by many popular softwares, browsers and operatingsystems for example, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Linux OS, etc. Thus, these softwares, particularly browsers, are vulnerable to attacks. Toexploit this vulnerability, hackers may send users a link containingmalicious XPATH. When the user opens this link, the malicious code willbe executed, attacking the user’s system.

Minh was among six experts worldwide to receive Google’s highest prize in November./.
