Vietnamese in Thailand, RoK support COVID-19 fight
Overseas Vietnamese in Thailand and the Republic of Korea have donated 704 million VND (30,000 USD) to support the fight against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the homeland.

Hanoi (VNA) – Overseas Vietnamese in Thailand and the Republic ofKorea have donated 704 million VND (30,000 USD) to support the fight againstthe novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the homeland.
Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the State Committee on OverseaseVietnamese Affairs Dang Minh Khoi handed over the money, raised by the GeneralAssociation of Vietnamese people in Thailand and the Vietnam BusinessAssociation in the Republic of Korea (VIBAK), to President of theVietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man at a ceremonyin Hanoi on April 27.
Speaking at the function, Khoi said that the donations reflected the traditionof solidarity and mutual support of the Vietnamese people. Despite difficulties in their host countries, overseas Vietnamese have joined hands inlaunching fund-raising campaigns to help their compatriots in the homeland combatthe disease.
It shows that the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation, he affirmed.
In addition, Vietnamese in Hungary, Thailand, China, the US, Laos, Cambodia, the Republic ofKorea, Poland, the Czech Republic, Britain, Germany and France, have also offered cash and medical supplies such as cloth face masks, clothes, food, protective masks, andgloves to administrations, hospitals and Vietnamese nationals in need in theirhost countries, he added.
VFF CentralCommittee President Tran Thanh Man thanked Vietnamese citizens abroad for theirheartfelt support to the homeland and said the money and medical supplies willbe delivered to those in need in an open and transparent manner.
According topreliminary statistics of the the State Committee on Oversease Vietnamese Affairs, asof April 26, 25 overseas Vietnamese collectives and individuals from 14 countries and territories have donated nearly33 billion VND (1.4 million USD) and medical supplies to the COVID-19 combat in the homeland./.
