Vietnamese in Malaysia celebrate national holidays

Hundreds of overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in Malaysia on April 22 gathered at the Vietnamese Embassy to commemorate Hung Kings (10th of third lunar month) and to celebrate Reunification Day (April 30).

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) –Hundreds of overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in Malaysia on April 22 gathered at theVietnamese Embassy to commemorate Hung Kings (10th of third lunar month) and tocelebrate Reunification Day (April 30).
Addressing the event, Ton Thi NgocHuong, charge d’affaires of Vietnam in Malaysia said that this month is anoccasion for all Vietnamese people to recall the ancestors’ efforts toestablish and protect the country.
She also expressed her hope that OVsin Malaysia will enhance solidarity, building a strong community.
A highlight of the event was asinging competition, participated in by many OVs. Vietnamese brides in Malaysiaalso received consultations from local lawyers.
The Vietnamese community in Malaysiahas provided support for disadvantaged people as well as victims of naturaldisasters and soldiers in border and island regions over the years.
On this occasion, more than 2,000 MYR(455 USD) was raised for the construction of a multi-purpose house in Truong Sa(Spratly) archipelago.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
