Vietnamese in Germany celebrate Buddha’s birthday

A delegation from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Central Committee held Dharma ceremonies for overseas Vietnamese in several German cities from May 15-16 to celebrate the Buddha’s birthday.

At the ceremonies, Most Venerable Thich Chon Thien, Vice Chairman ofthe VBS Central Committee’s Executive Council, affirmed the pureness ofthe Buddhist dogmas on peace, mercy and altruism.

Buddhism always goes abreast with and actively contributes to thecause of the national construction and development, he stressed.

He also called upon overseas Buddhist followers and lovers inGermany to make more contributions to the homeland, looking towardsthe 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi in October and the 6 thWorld Buddhist Summit in November this year.

He also affirmed that the VBS Central Committee is ready to respondto questions on the Buddhist dogmas by Buddhist followers and theVietnamese community in Germany./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
