Vietnamese-funded Academy of Economics and Finance inaugurated in Laos

The Vietnamese-funded Dongkhamxang Academy of Economics and Finance (third phase) was inaugurated in Vientiane capital on January 11 within the framework of the official visit to Laos by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Vientiane (VNA) – The Vietnamese-funded DongkhamxangAcademy of Economics and Finance (third phase) was inaugurated in Vientiane capital onJanuary 11 within the framework of the official visit to Laos by Prime MinisterPham Minh Chinh.

The project, launched in 2017, had totalinvestment capital of 176 billion VND (7.5 million USD), of which 158 billionVND was non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government.

Present at the ceremony, Vietnamese Minister ofFinance Ho Duc Phoc said the academy can admit up to 4,000 students and officialsin the financial sector, expressing  hishope that it will provide high-quality personnel, thus contributing to the process of nationalconstruction and reform in Laos.

Spanning over 155,000 square metres, the projectincludes buildings for study, research, physical training, and dormitory, amongother facilities.

It formed part of an agreement on bilateralcooperation between the Vietnamese and Lao Governments for 2016 – 2020./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
