The Embassy of Vietnam in Russia on August 22 held a fundraising event to support victims of the hydropower dam collapse in Laos’ Attapeu province, which caused great human and property losses.

Moscow (VNA) –⭕ The Embassy of Vietnam in Russia on August 22 held afundraising event to support victims of the hydropower dam collapse in Laos’Attapeu province, which caused great human and property losses.

Atthe event, Vietnamese Counsellor Nguyen Quynh Mai underlined the traditionalfriendship between Vietnam and Laos, saying Vietnamese ministries, agencies andlocalities have been conducting a wide range of practical activities in supportof Lao victims. Staffat the embassy and Vietnam’s representative offices in Russia offered at leastone day’s salary to the fund, hoping Lao people will soon overcome theconsequences of the incident to stabilise their lives and recover production. Thedonation will be sent to Lao people through the trade union of the VietnameseForeign Ministry.

A dam of the Sepien-Senamnoi hydropower plant in Laos’Attapeu province broke on July 23, affecting 13 villages in Sanamxay districtwith six completely flooded.
