Vietnamese embassy in Australia calls for support to COVID-19 fight

The Vietnamese Embassy in Australia on June 5 sent the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee’s appeal to overseas Vietnamese in the country to raise funds for the fight against COVID-19 in the homeland.

Sydney (VNA)🐟 – The Vietnamese Embassy in Australia on June 5 sentthe Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee’s appealto overseas Vietnamese in the country to raise funds for the fightagainst COVID-19 in the homeland.

Theembassy said since the pandemic broke out, the entire Vietnamese Party, peopleand armed forces have taken drastic actions to combat the pandemic with the mottoof “fighting the pandemic is like fighting the enemy”. However, many clusters haveappeared in cities and provinces with the number of infection cases rising sharply since April 27. On the occasion, the Vietnamese BusinessAssociation in Australia also conveyed the Business Association of Overseas Vietnamese(BAOOV)’s document calling on Vietnamese entrepreneurs worldwide to offerdonations to buy COVID-19 vaccines in Vietnam. Recently, the Vietnamese Students’Association in Australia also conveyed the Vietnamese Government and VFF’s callto the Vietnamese community in the country to contribute to the homeland's fight against the pandemic./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
