Vietnamese economists’ meeting opens

The Fourth Vietnamese Economist Annual Meeting (VEAM) took place in Ho Chi Minh City on Sept. 27, attracting the participation of researchers, lecturers and trainees from the US, France, Germany, Canada, Japan, Singapore, India, Australia and Thailand.

Theevent was jointly hosted by the University of Economics and Law(UEL) under Vietnam National University , Ho Chi Minh City andthe Foreign Trade University (FTU), the French National Centre forScientific Research (CNRS) and the Development and Policies ResearchCentre (DEPOCEN).

The two-day meeting aimed toprovide an opportunity to Vietnam’s universities, economics andmanagement schools, organisations and enterprises to access the resultsof economic and management research of Vietnamese scholar communitiesworldwide.

Nguyen Van Luan, Rector of UEL said VEAMhad established a global network of Vietnamese researchers, economistsand lecturers and many other researchers around the world.

It is also an occasion for domestic and foreign researchers andeconomists to exchange knowledge and share experience, as well aspropose policies for economic development in coming years./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
