Vietnamese doctors in South Sudan help level-1 field hospitals respond to monkeypox

Hanoi (VNA) – Soldiers of Vietnam’s Level-2 FieldHospital Rotation 4 have recently provided training and updated knowledge onthe epidemiological situation, diagnosis, treatment of prevention of monkeypoxfor Level-1 field hospitals in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan(UNMISS), according to the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

In the context of the disease developing complicatedly inmany countries around the world, including African ones where it was firstdetected, the training aimed at equipping medical workers with basic knowledgeand necessary epidemiological skills, thus helping the health system in themission able to take concerted measures in response to the disease in case itspreads to the area where the mission is stationed.

Soldiers of the Vietnamese hospital also joined Civil-MilitaryCo-operation (CIMIC) activities.

Visiting the Unity State’s Education Ministry, the soldiers showedtheir hope to contribute to the study of children here.

They then visited and presented gifts to students of CharlesKuot Primary School in the state. Students were also taught to play severalfolk games of Vietnam./.
