Vietnamese diners sample free Japanese meals

Organised by Japan 's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry andFisheries, the second Oishi Nippon Fair at the Tokyo Townrestaurant, 188 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street , District 3, is part of aproject to introduce Japanese cuisine culture to the world and followsan earlier one in April.

Until September 17, TokyoTown will offer a menu with seven dishes – croquette, fried noodlewith seafood, udon salad, fermented vegetable mixture, bacon wrappedasparagus and sausage, breaded butterfly shrimp with mayonnaise, andfish pie with soy sauce – and three beverages.

Atweekend, food expert Nguyen Thi Dieu Thao will teach diners how to cooktraditional miso soup though with some changes to suit the Vietnamesepalate.

Japanese delicacies have also been on offerat the 17th Vietfood & Beverage until September 14 at the city's TanBinh Exhibition and Convention Centre.

YoshinoriYakabe, the Japanese deputy consul in HCM City , said Japaneserestaurants used to mostly serve Japanese customers but now attract moreand more Vietnamese.
